Introducing 'The People of the Book'

This is a page to discuss the beliefs of the people of the book i.e. Jews and Christians who live in Muslim countries or who have Muslim neighbours. The Qur'an has many verses that show tolerance towards the People of the Book and their beliefs. Not only that, the Torah, Zebbur (Psalms) and Injil (Gospel) are respected as Holy Scripture by Muslims (attributed to prophet Musa, prophet/king David and Isa al Masih (Jesus the Messiah)). This means that we can all discuss respected Ibrahim and other prophets mentioned in these books. Ibrahim, in particular, as the ancestor of both the Arabs and the Hebrews (Jews) is an important figure who we can all look up to as not just an ancestor in family terms, but an ancestor of our faith.
